Arcachon: Guide
Arcachon ist eine Stadt in der Frankreich|französischen Regionen Frankreichs|Region Aquitanien im Département (Frankreich)|Département Gironde (Département)|Gironde mit 11.454 (1999) Einwohnern.
Die Stadt liegt im Arrondissement Bordeaux (Arrondissement)|Bordeaux und bildet den eigenen Liste der Kantone im Département Gironde|Kanton Arcachon (Kanton)|Arcachon.
Arcachon liegt am südlichen Ufer des Bassin d´Arcachon. Die Stadt und sein Becken sind bekannt für Austernzucht.
Südlich der Villenvororte Pilat-Plage und Pyla an der Becken-Ausfahrt am Atlantik befindet sich die höchste Düne Europas, die Dune du Pilat mit ca. 115 m Höhe, einer Länge von ca. 3 km und einer Fußbreite von ca. 600 m.
