Les Deux Alpes: Guide
Les Deux Alpes ist ein französischer Wintersportort im Département Isère (Département)|Isère.
Das Dorf liegt in 1650 m Höhe. Zu seinem Einzugsbereich gehört auch das größte europäische Gletscherskigebiet.
Les Deux Alpes entstand als zweiter Wintersportort nach Chamonix und hat sich vor allem in den fünfziger Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts entwickelt.
Heute gibt es für den Alpinski 102 Abfahrten der verschiedenen Schwierigkeitsgrade mit einer Gesamtlänge von 220 km. Für die Langläufer gibt es drei Pisten mit einer Länge von 25 km, dazu kommen noch sechs Einrichtungen für die "modernen" Wintersportarten wie z.B. Snowboarding. Das Gebiet wird von 51 Liften unterschiedlichster Art erschlossen, die z.T. bis in eine Höhe von 3600 m hinaufführen.
Der Name der Station weist darauf hin, dass sie auf dem Gebiet der Hochgebirgsalmen der tieferliegenden Ort Venosc und Mont-de-Lans entstanden ist.
Der Ort ist auch als eine der anspruchsvollsten Bergankünfte der neueren Tour De France-Geschichte bekannt geworden. Der Anstieg ist etwa 12,01 km lang, wobei die mittlere Steigung ca. 8% beträgt. Die maximale Steigung liegt bei 12,5 %.
