Lisieux: Guide



Lisieux ist eine Stadt in der Lisieux, dieses besteht aus 13 Liste der Kantone im Département Calvados|Kantonen, die Stadt selbst gliedert sich in 3 Kantone.

Lisieux liegt an dem Flüsschen Touques und ist als Sitz eines Karmel zum Wallfahrtsort geworden, der seinen Ruhm der Heiligen Therese von Lisieux|Therese vom Kinde Jesu verdankt. Nach ihrem Tod 1897 verbreitete sich, mit einem in früheren Jahrhunderten kaum gekannten Tempo, die Verehrung der Karmeliterin, die bereits 1923 seliggesprochen und 1925 heiliggesprochen wurde. Ihr ist die abgebildete, von 1929 bis 1937 im neuromanischen Stil errichtete Kirche geweiht.

Die Stadt wurde bereits in römischer Zeit als Noviomagus Lexoviorum erwähnt.
