Millau: Guide

Millau ist eine Stadt im Aveyron (Département)|Département Aveyron im Süden Frankreichs.

Millau liegt im Flusstal des Tarn (Fluss)|Tarn, in den hier die Dourbie mündet.

Millau war 1999 Schauplatz der symbolischen, aber dennoch handgreiflichen "Demontage" einer McDonald's-Filiale durch den französischen Aktivisten und Globalisierungskritiker José Bové.

Millau ist zudem in der Gleitschirm- und Drachenflugszene bekannt, als eines der schönsten Fluggebiete Europas. 2004 fand hier die Drachenflugweltmeisterschaft statt.

Städtepartnerschaften

Eine Partnerschaft besteht mit der deutschen Stadt Bad Salzuflen in Nordrhein-Westfalen, sowie seit Dezember 2006 mit der Stadt Mostar in Bosnien-Herzegowina .
