Hintergrund

Wilna ist die historische Hauptstadt von Litauen. Lange gehörte sie zum Russischen reich, bis sie 1921 zu Polen kam. 1945 wurde sie ein Teil der Litauischen Sowjetrepublik.

Anreise

Flugzeug

Diverse Fluglinien fliegen nach Wilna, u.a. die Lufthansa ab Frankfurt.

Bahn

Anreise über Görlitz (D), über Warschau (PL), über Suwalki (PL) nach Vilnius (LT) stellt kein Problem dar. Zugticktet´s sollte man in dem jeweiligen Land kaufen oder man möchte die DB mit Geld überschütten.

Bus

Von vielen Städte in Mitteleuropa gibt es Busverbindungen nach Wilna.

Auto

Mit dem Auto fährt man über Warschau und Bialystok zum polnisch-litauischen Grenzübergang nahe Suwalki. Kürze wäre die Strecke über Grodno/Weißrussland, allerdings muß man hierfür ein kostspieligen Transitvisum beantragen.
